About this file

This is a Contractor Security Acknowledgement Form issued by the State of South Dakota's Bureau of Information Technology (BIT) for compliance with the state's Information Technology Security Policy. The form establishes mandatory security requirements for all contractors and their employees who access South Dakota's non-public technology infrastructure or information systems. Contractors must acknowledge and agree to nine key compliance points, including protection of state technology and information assets, adherence to state and federal confidentiality regulations, compliance with the attached IT security policy, and prompt reporting of policy violations to the designated state contact and BIT Help Desk (605-773-4357). Violation of the policy subjects individuals to privilege revocation and potential breach of contract determination by the state. Access to state technology infrastructure is granted as a revocable privilege that automatically terminates upon contract conclusion unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

The form requires that the individual signing on behalf of the contractor affirm their authority to commit the entire organization and all employees to the stated terms. This security acknowledgement is a standard requirement for contractors working on South Dakota state contracts, including the referenced Benefit Decision Support Tool contract (RFP #25RFP18343). The policy framework establishes that contractors must protect unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, deletion, and usage of state information assets while maintaining compliance with applicable state and federal data handling regulations. The contractor bears full responsibility for ensuring all current and future employees adhere to these security standards throughout the contract period.
