About this file

This is a Contractor Security Acknowledgement Form from the State of South Dakota, specifically the Bureau of Information Technology (BIT), requiring contractors to comply with the state's Information Technology Security Policy. The form serves as a binding agreement that contractors and all their employees must sign prior to accessing state technology infrastructure or non-public information. Contractors are obligated to protect state technology and information assets from unauthorized activities including access, disclosure, modification, deletion, and usage, while adhering to all applicable state and federal regulations regarding confidentiality and data handling. Access to the state's technology infrastructure is granted as a privilege that may be modified or revoked at BIT management's discretion and automatically terminates upon contract completion unless otherwise specified in writing.

The agreement holds contractors accountable for policy compliance and requires prompt reporting of any violations to the designated state contact and BIT Help Desk (605-773-4357). Contractors face potential consequences for non-compliance, including privilege revocation and potential breach of contract designation at the state's discretion. The signatory affirms authority to commit the entire contracting company and all its employees to the terms outlined in the agreement. This acknowledgement form is a standard attachment to all contracts involving state technology access and must be completed and returned to the designated BIT contact prior to contract performance.
