About this file

This is a bid form for commercial locksmith services issued by the School Board of Sarasota County, Florida (Bid #26-0025). The procurement seeks firm, fixed pricing for installation, maintenance, and repair services for standardized Schlage Primus, Schlage Primus Everest, and Von Duprin locksets at various School Board locations throughout Sarasota County. The contract term is one year from the date of award, with options to renew for two additional one-year periods by mutual consent. Electronic sealed submissions are due March 11, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. EST via the VendorLink Portal, with recommended awards posted on or about April 14, 2026, and Board action scheduled for April 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. EST. Service response requirements include answering calls within two hours of notification, providing quotations within 48 hours, and scheduling projects within 12 hours of purchase order issuance. Bidders must demonstrate a minimum of three years of commercial or institutional locksmith experience and possess training in the specified lockset brands.

Pricing must include firm, fixed hourly rates for four line items: a one-time service call per location per work order, standard hours (Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), non-standard hours (Monday through Friday before 7:00 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m., and all day Saturday and Sunday), and materials at net cost plus a maximum 10 percent markup for overhead and profit. All materials must be supported by itemized invoices from suppliers to verify the markup. Contractors must maintain comprehensive liability insurance with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence, comply with Jessica Lunsford Act background screening for employees and subcontractors with school access, meet OSHA requirements, and provide three commercial references demonstrating comparable scope of work. During declared disaster situations, any bid items with markup will be billed at actual cost without markup. The School Board reserves the right to award to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder and may make multiple vendor awards. No budget range or estimated contract value is specified in the procurement documents.
