About this file

This is a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the Michigan School for the Deaf for the construction of a new dormitory facility. The project involves the design and construction of a new residential building to serve the school's students. The RFP establishes a competitive bidding process for qualified contractors to submit proposals for the complete construction project. Specific response and submission deadlines are outlined within the document, along with requirements for site visits and pre-bid meetings to allow prospective bidders to familiarize themselves with project requirements and site conditions. The contract will be awarded to the qualified bidder submitting the most advantageous proposal, with the construction timeline and contract term extending through the completion of all work and any applicable warranty periods.

The RFP establishes pricing structures and payment terms that bidders must follow in their proposals, with detailed specifications for cost breakdowns and schedule of values. The document outlines any applicable set-asides, prevailing wage requirements, and funding sources supporting the project. Bidders are required to demonstrate financial capacity, bonding capability, and relevant experience with similar institutional construction projects. The proposal evaluation will consider factors including project schedule feasibility, quality assurance measures, and contractor qualifications alongside cost considerations to determine the most qualified and responsive bidder for the Michigan School for the Deaf's new dormitory construction.
