About this file

This document is a Cattail Removal Specifications Add Alternate for the Stoneybrook Drive Retaining Wall Replacement project in Colorado, specifically involving cattail removal at the Stoneybrook Retaining Wall. The project aims to restore open water, improve habitat diversity, and maintain proper stormwater management functionality by mechanically removing cattails from the site. The subcontractor/consultant will be responsible for providing a detailed methodology, demonstrating experience in cattail removal, obtaining necessary permits (including from the Army Corps of Engineers and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment), completely removing cattails by digging up their rhizomes, properly disposing of cattail waste, and performing site restoration including reseeding.

The project will be subcontracted under the general contractor for the Stoneybrook Drive Retaining Wall Replacement project and will operate under the Contractor's PPIP (Project Pollution Prevention) requirements. Bidders must complete a Qualifications of Bidders Form demonstrating their trade practices, experience working in environmental areas, and cattail removal expertise. Permit requirements are extensive, potentially including Dredge and Fill, Dewatering, and other environmental permits. The specifications emphasize a comprehensive approach to cattail removal that goes beyond simple surface clearing, focusing on complete root system extraction and subsequent environmental restoration.
