About this file
Summary: Superior Residence Window Replacement Specifications
This document is a Specifications file for the Superior Residence Window Replacement project at Lolo National Forest's Superior Ranger District. The specifications establish requirements for the complete window replacement project, including materials, installation procedures, and quality standards organized across five specification sections covering general requirements, finish carpentry, wood windows, and painting.
The contractor must furnish and install primed and painted horizontal-sliding wood windows with a whole-window U-value of 0.27, exterior and interior wood trim from D Select grade eastern white, Idaho white, lodgepole, ponderosa, or sugar pine lumber, and exterior and interior semi-gloss acrylic enamel paint. All submittals—including product literature, shop drawings, and color samples for windows, trim, and paint—must be submitted within ten working days after Notice to Proceed and approved by the Contracting Officer prior to ordering. The contractor is responsible for field verification of dimensions before ordering, removal and disposal of all construction debris offsite, maintaining a clean work area, providing temporary onsite wastewater facilities, protecting existing facilities and landscaping, and ensuring all construction activities minimize disturbance to neighboring residents between 6:00 PM and 7:00 AM. Exterior trim and windows must be finished with one primer coat and two finish coats of exterior semi-gloss acrylic enamel, while interior trim requires one primer coat and two finish coats of interior semi-gloss acrylic enamel, all applied according to manufacturer specifications and recommendations.
