About this file
This is a Clarifications document providing specification details for the Superior Quarters Window Replacements Project, a USDA Forest Service solicitation (1240LU26Q0082) issued as a Request for Quotation for commercial items. The project involves replacing windows while maintaining the historical character of a residential building and is set aside for small business concerns under NAICS 238350 with a $19,000,000 size standard.
The clarifications address specific window requirements and site conditions. Window 5 requires exterior framing only to match existing frames, with re-siding inside and outside the frame as needed. Windows 8 and 9 must match exactly, with Window 8 requiring siding and painted trim to match the rest of the house. Windows 14, 15, and 16 are being converted from single to double windows, resulting in 12 total windows of that style. Window 17 is currently boarded up. All window trim work includes painting to finish the incomplete trim on Windows 8 and 9. The residence will be occupied in evenings with daytime occupants mostly absent, but contractors must maintain access during business hours. Preferred work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The document includes reference images of basement windows and interior upstairs windows for specification purposes.

Clarifications #2:
Window 5 needs to be framed on the outside only to look like the rest of the frames and re-sided within the frame and outside the frame as needed.
Window 8 does not have shutters. It should be the exact same as 9 which is just around the corner from 8. Window 8 needs siding. Windows 8 and 9 trim does not match the rest of the house and was never finished (painted), this contract requires the painting of that trim.
Because windows 14, 15, 16 are being converted from 1 to 2 windows, there would be 12 total windows for that style of window.
Window 17 is boarded up.
The residence will be occupied in the evenings, and the occupant will presumably be away from the residence for the most part during the days. However, the contractor will still need to maintain the residence such that it does not prohibit the occupant from accessing it during the day.
Preferred work hours: M – F (7am – 7pm), Sat – Sun (9am – 6pm).
