About this file

This document is a Contract Specifications document for the 2026 ANF Oak Flats HVAC System Replacement project issued by the U.S. Forest Service, Pacific Southwest Region, Angeles National Forest in July 2026.

The project involves replacement of aging HVAC systems at two locations: Oak Flats Fire Station (38001 Golden State Hwy, Castaic, CA 91384) and Fox Field ATB Station (4503 William J Barnes Ave, Lancaster, CA 93536). The work will be constructed under a single prime contract with the owner represented by Javier Diaz (Contractor Officer Representative) and Jonathan Pacheco (Engineering Technician). The specification sections address general requirements including summary, payment procedures, execution, construction waste management, closeout procedures, and operation/maintenance data. Technical sections specify common motor requirements for HVAC equipment, testing/adjusting/balancing procedures, HVAC piping insulation, gas-fired furnaces (noncondensing and condensing types), fan coil units, low-voltage electrical power conductors and cables, and enclosed switches and circuit breakers. The contractor must receive, handle, store, protect, and install owner-furnished products while maintaining portions of the existing building and grounds in weathertight condition. Work is limited to normal business hours (7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday) with owner occupancy throughout the construction period, requiring coordination to minimize conflicts with existing operations. The specification mandates compliance with NFPA, ASHRAE, and other applicable standards, with comprehensive testing and balancing requirements, operation and maintenance manual preparation, and extended warranties on furnace heat exchangers (20 years) and other components.

2. File Names and Bookmarks: Bookmark individual documents based on file names. Name document files to correspond to system, subsystem, and equipment names used in manual directory and table of contents. Group documents for each system and subsystem into individual composite bookmarked files, then create composite manual, so that resulting bookmarks reflect the system, subsystem, and equipment names in a readily navigated file tree. Configure electronic manual to display bookmark panel on opening file.

1.5 REQUIREMENTS FOR EMERGENCY, OPERATION, AND MAINTENANCE MANUALS

A. Organization of Manuals: Unless otherwise indicated, organize each manual into a separate section for each system and subsystem, and a separate section for each piece of equipment not part of a system. Each manual to contain the following materials, in the order listed:

1. Title page.

2. Table of contents.

3. Manual contents.
