About this file

This justification and approval document outlines a sole source procurement by the Department of Veterans Affairs for Trumpf Medical Light and Equipment Booms. The agency requires matching equipment to that recently installed in two hybrid operating rooms and procured for seven existing operating rooms. The justification cites FAR 6.302-1 for only one responsible source being available, as the medical center needs a single equipment type for reduced maintenance, repair costs, and staff training ease. Market research found other systems but continuity with existing Trumpf equipment. The contracting office will synopsize an invitation for bids on fbo.gov indicating the brand name specification. The anticipated project award date was September 29, 2020 for $6,979,000 to Brigadier Construction Services, LLC to install the booms through a construction contract for renovating operating rooms at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center.
