About this file
This document contains a technical specification for a 62.5 kW photovoltaic system and the related federal contract solicitation for renewable energy systems in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The technical specification provides projected annual energy generation figures calculated using the PVWatts model, indicating the system would generate approximately 102,285 kWh per year with a range of 99,482 to 104,985 kWh. It also lists component details such as the DC system size, module type, array configuration, losses, and inverter efficiency. The related solicitation is from the Department of the Army Michigan Army National Guard to design and install renewable energy systems on St. Croix and provides a point of contact for site visits. Interested offerors are instructed to submit proposals to the specified contracting office by the amended due date.

Caution: Photovoltaic system performance predictions calculated by PVWatts include many inherent assumptions and uncertainties and do not reflect variations between PV technologies nor site-specific characteristics except as represented by
PVWatts inputs. For example, PV modules with better performance are not differentiated within PVWatts from lesser performing modules. Both NREL and private companies provide more sophisticated PV modeling tools (such as the System Advisor
Model at http://sam.nrel.gov) that allow for more precise and complex modeling of PV systems.
The expected range is based on 30 years of actual weather data at the given location and is intended to provide an indication of the variation you might see. For more information, please refer to this NREL report:
The Error Report.
