About this file
This document is a revised bid schedule and specification amendment for the Bullion King Mine Waste Reclamation Project in Colorado, outlining 21 bid items for mine waste remediation and site restoration work. The project encompasses excavation and placement of approximately 3,000 cubic yards of mine waste into a designated repository, installation of erosion and hydrologic control systems, construction of a lined waste containment area with anchor trenches, and revegetation of approximately 2 acres of disturbed land. Key work items include installation of an 8-mil geotextile layer, a 45-mil polypropylene liner system, and progressive cover material placement consisting of 600 cubic yards of 1-inch minus material and 1,200 cubic yards of unclassified cover material. The bid schedule requires contractors to provide unit pricing for each line item, with measurement and payment based on completed work as approved by the Project Manager. Additional contingent bid items (Items 19-21) include provisions for extra excavation, excavator time, and bulldozer time, each estimated at quantities of 3,000 cubic yards and 40 hours respectively, which are explicitly noted as not guaranteed and only payable if site conditions warrant their use.
Pricing is to be submitted on a unit basis for each line item, with total compensation for each task intended to cover all labor, materials, equipment, and incidental costs as specified. The Project Manager will conduct periodic inspections during regular business hours (8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on weekdays) and must approve 16 specific project milestones before work can proceed to subsequent phases. Contractors are responsible for scheduling inspections to avoid work delays and for protecting the liner system during all covering operations, including repair of any damage caused during installation. The document specifies sourcing requirements for certain materials, including limestone crusher fines meeting at least 85 percent calcium carbonate equivalent from Colorado Lime and excelsior mulch from Western Excelsior, with contact information provided for material procurement.
