About this file

This document is a detailed bid specification for the Marion National Cemetery New Land Expansion project (Project No. 817CM3025), located in Marion, Indiana. The comprehensive bid documents cover a complete cemetery expansion project, including new construction of administrative, maintenance, and committal service buildings, as well as site improvements such as columbaria, burial crypts, roadways, utilities, landscaping, and related infrastructure. The project involves multiple construction divisions, including site work, concrete, masonry, metals, wood, thermal and moisture protection, doors and windows, finishes, specialties, equipment, and building systems like plumbing, HVAC, electrical, communications, and electronic safety and security systems.

The bid documents are dated 10/30/2024 and include extensive technical specifications, drawing lists, and detailed requirements for each aspect of construction. The project scope encompasses approximately 10 acres of land expansion, with specific focus on creating new burial sections, installing precast concrete burial crypts, constructing new buildings, and developing comprehensive site infrastructure. Key elements include site surveys, demolition, earthwork, utility installations, landscaping, and the implementation of sophisticated building systems with direct digital control (DDC) for HVAC, comprehensive commissioning requirements, and sustainable design considerations. The project will be executed under the Department of Veterans Affairs National Cemetery Administration's oversight, with precise technical specifications governing every aspect of design and construction.
