About this file
This Bid Narrative Instructions document pertains to the City of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania's Bureau of Fire Station Upgrades project. The project encompasses interior renovation of two fire stations located at 1820 North 6th Street (Station #1) and 140 North 16th Street (Station #2) in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The scope of work includes demolition and reconstruction of bunk rooms, restroom/shower facilities, and office spaces at both locations, with work encompassing partitions, doors, interior glazed openings, architectural built-in casework, painting, plumbing fixtures, domestic water and sanitary waste distribution, HVAC redistribution, electrical service redistribution, and interior lighting. The owner will occupy the premises during the entire construction period, except in areas under active construction. Prime and subcontractors interested in bidding are required to identify their interest through the project profile on PennBid, which serves as the sole authoritative source for bid information and requirements.
Bidders must review all supporting documentation and project details prior to submitting inquiries and attending site visits, with particular attention to the questions and answers guide included in the solicitation documents. Bids containing omissions resulting from industry assumptions will be deemed non-responsive. All bidding requirements are specified within the bid solicitation and the PennBid profile. The project includes partial owner occupancy provisions requiring coordination around active construction areas. Funding sources and specific pricing terms are not detailed within this instructional document; however, bidders should reference the complete solicitation materials for financial requirements, cost structures, and any set-asides or incumbent considerations applicable to this fire station renovation initiative.
