About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the Federal Aviation Administration's Access Road Rehabilitation Project at the BGQ VORTAC facility in Big Lake, Alaska. The project involves rehabilitating an access road to improve vehicular accessibility, with specific requirements including grading and compacting the existing roadway, installing geotechnical materials, clearing vegetation within 20 feet of the roadway edges, and replacing existing culverts with 18" HDPE culverts and marker posts. The work will be performed at coordinates 61° 34' 10.0" N, 149° 58' 01.8" W, located off South Horseshoe Lake Road near Wasilla, Alaska.
The SOW details comprehensive construction specifications, safety requirements, and contractor responsibilities, including compliance with OSHA and FAA safety standards, submission of documentation, and adherence to local and federal regulations. Key technical requirements include preparing the subgrade to reach 95% Proctor Density, installing roadway sections according to Alaska Department of Transportation specifications, and ensuring proper drainage and site restoration. The document outlines detailed processes for material delivery, storage, work sequencing, site access, and post-construction documentation, with a focus on maintaining safety and environmental standards throughout the project execution.
