About this file

This document package includes daily reports from a UXO technician and a cover letter summarizing their anomaly avoidance work supporting the repair of shoreline barriers at Smiling Cove and Outer Cove in American Memorial Park, Saipan. Over three days, the technician conducted magnetometer-assisted anomaly avoidance for trenching and borehole digging, avoiding anomalies by adjusting locations slightly. Four boreholes were completed to depths of 10 to 30 feet. No medical incidents occurred and the work was performed for the National Park Service without accident or issue. The related federal contract opportunity is to replace the shoreline barriers at Smiling Cove and Outer Cove in American Memorial Park, Saipan, under solicitation number 140P2023R0011 for the Department of the Interior National Park Service National Office.

RE: Results of Anomaly Avoidance, Smiling Cove and Outer Cove, Saipan

On 6-7 March, 2021, Relyant Global mobilized a UXO Technician III to Saipan for UXO Anomaly Avoidance work in support of Shoreline Barrier Repair at Smiling Cove and Outer Cove in Saipan. After mandatory quarantine, work began on 15 March, 2021 with trenching and subsequent borehole digging. Relyant’s technician provided safety briefings to the team and magnetometer-assisted anomaly avoidance supporting field operations. Work was completed without accident, incident or injury.

Relyant enjoyed performing this work for the NPS on this project, and we look forward to working with you in the future. If we can answer any questions or clarify anything, please feel free to contact me at +1-423-999-1754 or bmurray@relyantglobal.com.

Yours very truly

Anomaly’s avoided: Completed three of the four bore holes today. Due to an anomaly signature bore hole one was moved to the right about two feet. No other issues with the two other holes.

The digging crew made an initial hole approximately 1 foot deep and I check the hole. I check the hole again at two and four feet. The water table was hit between five and six and a half feet.

I didn’t check the hole after the table was hit. Bore hole one went 30 feet, two was ten feet and three was thirty again.
