About this file

The document is a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Form from the City of Fort Myers, addressing the city's resolution 38-125 which establishes a 15% MBE goal for contract opportunities. The form is designed to help contractors document their good faith efforts in meeting this minority business participation objective, requiring detailed documentation of outreach, communication, and engagement with minority-owned businesses during the bidding and contracting process.

The form provides a structured approach for prime contractors to record their MBE engagement, including sections for prime contractor information, MBE contractor details, transmittal letter records, telephone/in-person visit documentation, handling of incomplete quotations, and reasons for not utilizing selected MBE firms. The goal is to create transparency and accountability in the contractor selection process, ensuring that minority businesses have meaningful opportunities to participate in city contracts. Contractors must complete each section, demonstrating proactive efforts to include minority-owned businesses through direct communication, thorough documentation, and clear explanation of any barriers to MBE participation.
