About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for repairing selected pad-mounted switchgear in the Sub3 Area at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JBMDL) in New Jersey. The project involves replacing four specific switchgear units manufactured by S&C Electric Company, including SWA-1, SWB-1, SW2919, and SWFDRE-5, with new 15.5 kV rated units. The work requires detailed field verification, cable reconnection, concrete pad extension, installation of new bollards, and comprehensive testing and documentation.
The SOW specifies precise technical requirements, including switchgear specifications with features like stainless steel switch tanks, potential indication, ground pads, and three-phase tripping. The contractor must perform visual and mechanical inspections, conduct electrical tests, program electronic trips, and provide detailed labeling. The project has a 540-calendar day performance period, with work to be completed during specific hours and with extreme caution within the airfield area. All replaced equipment must be removed from the base, and the work must comply with multiple industry standards and codes including IEEE, NFPA, and UL.
