About this file

The document is a Supplemental Requirements file for a VA Medical Center project to replace electronic signs and external navigation signage. It details two primary components: external navigation signs and digital display requirements for the Edward P. Boland VA Medical Center.

For external navigation signs, the specifications mandate green signs with white lettering indicating "VA MEDICAL CENTER" with directional arrows, installed using 2.25-in. square tube posts in accordance with Massachusetts Department of Transportation standards. The digital sign requirements are extensive, specifying a double-sided LED display with options for 10mm, 8mm, or 6mm pixel configurations, minimum 60" x 96" viewable area, 7,500 nits maximum light output, and auto-dimming capabilities. The document also includes stringent requirements for the sign manufacturer, including 20 years of continuous LED display manufacturing experience, domestic manufacturing proof, a comprehensive 5-year warranty, lifetime content management software, and specific technical and support qualifications.
