About this file

This is a Questions and Answers Response document from the Iowa Department of Public Defense, State Comptroller's Office, regarding Fire Preventive Maintenance Services at the Sioux City 185th Air National Guard facility. The document clarifies bidding instructions for service providers responding to the RFQ for inspection and maintenance of fire detection and suppression systems across 25 buildings at the Sioux City Air Refueling Wing. Bidders must submit all bids through the IMPACS procurement system by 5:00 PM on the specified deadline date. The service scope includes maintenance of fire alarm panels, initiating devices, sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and mass notification systems in accordance with applicable NFPA and UFC standards. The document emphasizes that bidders should base their proposals on information currently posted in the RFQ, with any discrepancies to be addressed by facility management through potential change orders if awarded.

A critical specification notes that foam systems should not be included in bids as they are locked out and tagged and remain inactive. The document does not provide specific pricing terms, contract award amounts, funding sources, or details regarding set-asides. No incumbent contractor is identified. Interested bidders are directed to review Attachments 1-3 for complete specifications, requirements, and building listings. Inquiries should be directed to Carl Fisher, Purchasing Agent, at carl.fisher@iowa.gov or 515-252-4558. The document was distributed as part of the formal solicitation process to ensure all bidders received consistent guidance prior to the submission deadline.

Hello bidders, Please bid off the information that is posted currently in the RFQ. Any discrepancies that are found by the bidder that is awarded the contract will be addressed by the facility and if needed a change order will be made. The Foam systems should not be included in your bids because they are locked out and tagged (not active). Good luck and please remember all bids are due by 5PM tomorrow.

Thank you, Very Respectfully, Carl Fisher Purchasing Agent 3 State Comptroller's Office Iowa Department of Public Defense 7105 NW 70th Ave Johnston, IA 50131 515-252-4558 carl.fisher@iowa.gov https://www.iowanationalguard.com image1.jpeg
