About this file
This is a Load Bank Test Report documenting the performance testing of a Caterpillar generator system at VA Hospital Fort Wayne. The test was conducted on 04/24/25 by Evan Dunlay, with the generator model SR4 (Serial Number 5FA03066) powered by a Caterpillar 3306 engine (Serial Number 06D48506). The unit generated 211 KW at 480V system voltage with a power factor of 1.0 and operated at 60 Hz frequency. Testing occurred from 8:30 AM to 12:40 PM, with the engine running for approximately 4 hours and 4 minutes (start hour 1025:39, end hour 1029:43).
The test demonstrated stable performance across multiple load intervals, progressively increasing from 0% load to 81% load (171.36 kW). Voltage remained consistent at 485V throughout the three-phase system (phases A, B, C), while amperage increased proportionally with load demand, reaching 204 amps at full test load. Coolant temperatures ranged from 46°C to 52°C, and oil pressure remained stable. All pre-start and post-start checks were verified as TRUE, including fuel level, generator connections, safety grounding, circuit breaker status, and e-stop functionality. The test was approved by Alan (Contact) and ED (Tech) from MacAllister Engine Power, with the work order number 9812890 and site address listed as Boiler Room.
