About this file

This document is a set of Special Provisions for a Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) contract related to materials for generator repairs at SHA District 6 facilities in Allegany, Garrett, and Washington Counties. The contract includes an allowance for necessary materials not listed in the schedule of prices, with the contractor allowed a markup percentage up to a maximum of $0.10. The contractor must obtain all materials from approved sources and provide documentation of competitive pricing if purchasing from associated companies. The SHA reserves the right to furnish materials as deemed appropriate, with no claim for costs or profit from the contractor. The contract covers generator maintenance services within the three named Maryland counties.

The pricing terms allow for the contractor to be reimbursed for the actual cost of materials delivered, including tax and transportation, plus the allowed markup percentage. There is a $500 deduction per occurrence if the contractor refuses to order materials as requested by the SHA. The contract does not specify any set-asides, incumbents, or funding sources, but indicates the allowance amount may not be fully utilized over the term of the contract.
