STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)

Project 593-26-305 Install Sinks Outpatient Surgery VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System

6900 North Pecos Road, N. Las Vegas, NV 89086

Building 1

PROJECT SUMMARY

The VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS) Outpatient Surgery Department provides podiatry, orthopedic, vascular, ear, nose and throat (ENT), and other outpatient surgery services for veteran patients. These services are rapidly approaching their maximum exam space capacity for patient care and require existing administrative spaces to be converted into examination rooms to meet the growing demands. Currently, these existing administrative spaces are not equipped with the proper plumbing fixtures or exam lights needed for clinicians to provide care to veteran patients. Additionally, certain spaces are large and underutilized and would be best divided into two separate exam spaces. To facilitate proper care to the growing veteran population, the VA requires construction services to reconfigure these existing spaces into standardized general-purpose exam rooms.

SCOPE

VASNHS solicits the services of a licensed contractor for the installation of six (6) new lavatories, relocation of two (2) existing lavatories, mounting of seven (7) exam lights throughout seven (7) rooms, and the reconfiguration of one large exam room into two smaller exam rooms within the outpatient surgery department’s clinical space. This will be inclusive of: installation of required ICRA barriers; cutting a rough-in for the lavatory out of the existing wall; piping, valving, and terminating the appropriate Hot Water (HW) and Cold Water (CW) pipes to each new lavatory; ground penetrating radar (GPR) of existing floor slab and subsequent core drilling for lavatory waste line; installation of new waste and vent pipes and connection to existing lines;

pulling and installing the electrical connections for new lavatory fixtures; final mounting and connection of the lavatory; mounting and energizing a wall-mounted exam light in each new exam room; erecting, mudding, and painting a new dividing wall; Installation two duplex receptacles on the new dividing wall; installing a new door for exam room access; installing a new ceiling-mounted fire alarm speaker; installing a new return-air (RA) register and tying its associated ductwork into an existing RA trunk; reconfiguring and rearranging lighting in existing exam room as necessary; and patching, repair, and painting of entire wall in which the new lavatory was installed.

The construction efforts will occur within an active outpatient surgery clinic and above other active outpatient ambulatory clinics. To mitigate the impact that construction will have on the clinics, the construction project will be staged. Each phase will be conducted as such that work is consolidated to a specific location within the outpatient surgery department. To abide by VA

ICRA level 2 requirements, the construction efforts for phases 1-3 shall conclude within 1 week of start.

HOURS OF OPERATION & HOLIDAYS

Normal duty hours are 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday thru Friday not including standard Federal

Holidays. Federal Holidays can be obtained on OPM’s website (www.opm.gov). All work performed shall be coordinated and scheduled through the COR. Any off-duty work must be coordinated with the COR at least 2 weeks (14 calendar days) prior to the work taking place.

Outpatient Surgery operation hours are 8:00 AM – 4:00PM and the Second Floor Clinics are open 7:00 AM-5:30 PM; Work shall be performed between the hours of 6:00 PM – 2:00AM and on weekends as necessary to minimize shutdown impact.
