About this file
This is an appendix outlining accessibility requirements for exhibits and technology solutions in the LOCal Experience project at Cleveland Public Library, a Library of Congress solicitation for fabrication and A/V integration services.
All exhibits and technology solutions must adhere to the Smithsonian Guidelines for Accessible Exhibition Design and meet or exceed the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design. ICT components within the exhibit must comply with Revised Section 508 Standards and WCAG 2.2 A and AA standards without relying on accessibility overlay technology. Vendors must provide accessible alternatives for print materials such as braille or large print versions and ensure any content creation tools meet Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines (ATAG). The contractor must designate an accessibility subject matter expert (SME) with a minimum of three years of experience applying accessibility standards to exhibits and ICT as key personnel, who will provide ongoing support on at least a part-time basis throughout the project. The contractor is responsible for testing and validating all ICT for ADA, Revised 508 Standards, and WCAG 2.2 A and AA compliance using either a Library-provided test process or a contractor-defined process with documented results. All accessibility issues identified after purchase or deployment of new versions and features must be resolved within 90 days of reporting.
