About this file
The document is a Partial Waiver of Lien form from Macomb Township in Michigan, designed to be submitted by contractors and subcontractors with periodic progress payment requests. This standardized legal document allows contractors to waive their lien rights to the extent of a specific payment received for labor, materials, services, fixtures, apparatus, or machinery furnished for a project. The form provides detailed instructions for completion, including guidance on identifying the parties involved, describing the contract and project, and properly executing the waiver with appropriate signatures and seals.
The form is specifically tailored for use in the Restroom Remodel at Macomb Corners Park project, where contractors must precisely document their partial release of lien rights when receiving progress payments. Key instructions emphasize the importance of accurately describing the contract, specifying the nature and extent of work, and clearly identifying the parties involved. The document requires the contractor to specify the amount actually received, and provides different completion instructions depending on whether the waiver is being filed by a sole proprietorship, corporation, or partnership, ensuring legal and financial transparency throughout the project's payment process.
