About this file
This is an attachment to RFP 200000001437 outlining custodial duties required of bridge operators. The scope of work encompasses comprehensive maintenance and cleaning responsibilities for bridge house facilities, including daily cleaning of windows, floors, stairwells, and interior surfaces; thrice-weekly wet mopping of floors and stairwells; monthly floor waxing; daily removal of spider webs and debris; regular wastebasket emptying and newspaper removal following each shift; daily dusting of contents and bathroom sanitation; weekly or more frequent cleaning of walkways and horizontal tread plates; and monthly power washing of walkways, catwalks, and piers beneath the bridge deck. Additional duties include daily water level checks and pumping of counterbalance pits for Blossomland and Bicentennial Bridges specifically, removal of debris from bascule spans, snow removal from sidewalks and entrance areas, replacement of burned-out light bulbs throughout bridge facilities, and maintenance of control panels in clean and orderly condition.
The custodial responsibilities represent core operational requirements for bridge operator positions, with emphasis on maintaining clear visibility for vessel operations and preventing machinery room storage that could compromise operational safety. These duties must be performed concurrently with primary bridge operation responsibilities, with specific frequency requirements ranging from daily to monthly depending on task type. No pricing information, contract terms, award dates, or other commercial terms are specified in this attachment.
