About this file
This document is an attachment to a federal contract opportunity (Solicitation Number: FA8051-26-R-FRPPanelKits) that specifies detailed technical requirements for Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) panel assembly specifications for the United States Air Force Airfield Damage Repair Program. The specification provides comprehensive manufacturing requirements for bolt-together FRP panels made of glass fiber and aramid fabric, impregnated with polyester resin, including four panel types: full-size, half-size, full-size anchor, and half-size anchor panels.
The technical specification covers extensive details including material composition, panel dimensions, mechanical properties, bushing materials, packaging requirements, and testing protocols. The anticipated contract is a 5-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with potential extension to other Department of Defense agencies. The first order is not expected until late FY2027, and the government is currently conducting market research via a Sources Sought announcement. Interested contractors must be registered in SAM, with the primary NAICS code 332312 (Fabricated Structural Metal Manufacturing), and the small business size standard is 500 employees. Capability statements are due by 1400 CST on 10 September 2025, submitted electronically to specified Air Force contacts.
