About this file
This document is a memorandum from the 75th Civil Engineer Squadron at Hill Air Force Base addressing asbestos and lead-based paint abatement requirements. The memorandum mandates that all contractors performing work that may disturb asbestos-containing materials (ACM) or lead-based paint (LBP) must be approved by Hill AFB and comply with specific federal, state, and local regulations, including Utah Division of Air Quality rules and Federal EPA/OSHA standards.
The document emphasizes strict enforcement of abatement requirements, with contractors who fail to meet these standards potentially receiving a notice of violation (NOV) from the State of Utah Division of Air Quality. Contractors must adhere to the Hill AFB Asbestos and Lead-Based Paint Management and Operating Plans, and the 75thCES/CEOHA Abatement Shop will hold contractors to the most stringent interpretations of these rules. Contractors can obtain copies of the referenced regulations and a current list of approved abatement contractors from the 75thCES/CEOHA supervisor.
