U.S. Embassy Madrid Spain

January 2026

1 INTRODUCTION / SUMMARY OF WORK PROJECT

This Scope of Work (SOW) outlines the supply and installation of a heat exchanger for the separation and decoupling of hydraulic circuits, completed with sealed connections and PTFE gaskets, mounting frame and support, counterflow operation, fully installed, with the following technical specifications at the U.S. Embassy in Madrid.

The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to perform the tasks detailed below, in compliance with applicable safety and construction regulations.

The project will be located on:

Calle de Serrano, 75, 28006 Madrid, Spain

2 SCOPE OF WORK

2.1 PRIOR TO IMPLEMENTATION

2.1.1 Site visit and survey. The contractor shall be responsible for researching the existing conditions and matters that affect the cost or performance of the services. Contractor is encouraged to attend the site visit to confirm all measurement and survey existing layout prior to submission of BOM and quotation. Measurements provided are approximate and US Embassy shall not be held responsible for inaccurate dimensions.

2.1.2 The contractor shall coordinate and obtain any permit required by local authorities for the execution of the project.

2.1.3 DOCUMENT SUBMITTAL PACKAGE. The Offeror will include the follows as part of its offer:

2.1.3.1 Product Data: Manufacturer’s data sheets on each product to be used.

2.1.3.2 Shop Drawings:

2.1.3.2.1 Show complete layout and location of the area, including required clearances. Include site layout drawings or any other plans required for this project.

2.1.3.2.2 Show typical details of assembly, erection, and anchorage.

2.1.3.3 Design, bill of material to be installed, materials provided by the contractor must be approved before prefabrication and installation.

2.1.3.4 Complete finalized Work Plan including Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule.

2.1.4 DOCUMENT SUBMITTAL PACKAGE. Submit to the COR within 15 days of award, document submittal package that includes:

2.1.4.1 Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) with detail specification of the safety plan to be implement.

2.1.4.2 List of personnel to be approved by the Embassy for the access request.

2.2 IMPLEMENTATION

2.2.1 AREA ISOLATION AND ACCESS RESTRICTION

2.2.1.1 The contractor shall provide a plan for the isolation and restriction of access to the area to be intervened.

2.2.1.2 Works must only be carried out by staff with technical knowledge to do so and always complying with the security rules.

2.2.1.3 Protection and isolation of the area. Please include water protection like provisional roof in case of rain.

2.3 PROJECT DETAILS

The project involves the supply, installation, and commissioning of a hydraulic distribution system, including the following key components and works:

2.3.1.1 Distribution Piping: Installation of Schedule 40 black steel piping, in compliance with ASTM A53 or ASTM A106 or equal EU standard with all necessary fittings, supports, and pressure/leak testing, for diameters ranging from 1/2" to 8", finished with two coats of primer.

2.3.1.2 Thermal Insulation: Application of closed-cell elastomeric insulation (e.g., Armaflex) with anti-condensation barrier, fully installed on all relevant piping and fittings.

2.3.1.3 Pumping System: Supply and installation of an accelerator pump group (Grundfos or equivalent) with all required accessories, including impeller, seals, flanges, and pressure gauges.

Brand: GRUNDFOS or similar ·Type: Single ·Flow Rate: 56,000 l/h ·Pressure: 10 m.c.a.

·Connections (Ø): DN80

2.3.1.4 Heat Exchanger: Installation of a plate-type stainless steel heat exchanger (Indelcasa or equivalent) for hydraulic circuit separation, complete with mounting frame, PTFE gaskets, and counterflow operation.

·Type: Plate ·Power: 1,000.00 kW ·Connections (Ø): DN100 ·Material: Stainless Steel

2.3.1.5 Valves and Fittings: Installation of butterfly shut-off valves, flat weld flanges, elastomeric vibration dampers, Y-type filters, check valves, and concentric reducers, all fully installed and operational.
