About this file
This is a site visit notice for three separate GAOA Critical Housing Deferred Maintenance construction projects under Request for Quote solicitations. The U.S. Forest Service (USDA) is coordinating a single organized site visit on February 24, 2026, at 9:00 AM Mountain Time to cover all three projects, though they will be advertised and awarded separately. The three projects are: Idaho City (RFQ 1240LT26Q00) involving remodeling of 9 buildings; Lowman Ranger District in the Boise National Forest (RFQ 1240LT26Q0011) with 6 buildings to be remodeled; and Crawford Work Center near Cascade, Idaho (RFQ 1240LT26Q0017) with 2 buildings to be remodeled.
The site visit will commence at the asphalt parking lot west of building 1176 in Idaho City, with attendees walking or driving to all Idaho City project buildings. The group will then reconvene outside the Lowman District Office at approximately noon before visiting Lowman project buildings, followed by travel to the Crawford Work Site with reconvening around 3:00 PM. Prospective vendors must provide their own transportation and may wish to bring lunch; the route between sites is paved but traverses steep, mountainous terrain where snow may be encountered. Attendance is not mandatory and does not commit the Government to award contracts or pay for incurred costs; its purpose is to allow vendors to view project areas prior to bidding. Prospective participants must notify the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), Paul McCloskey, by calling 928-814-2771 or emailing paul.mccloskey@usda.gov by noon on February 23, 2026. The notice includes site maps and Google Directions link for navigation to the Idaho City meeting location.
