About this file
This file is a Questions and Answers document from the March 23, 2026 amendment to solicitation 1240LT26Q0011 for Critical Housing Maintenance Construction at Lowman Ranger District, Boise National Forest, Idaho. The document addresses contractor clarifications regarding specification discrepancies and material requirements for the six-building remodeling project with an estimated cost between $250,000 and $500,000.
The Q&A resolves several technical ambiguities: Question 31 clarifies that a 32"x80" hollow core wood door should be installed despite specification language referencing solid core doors; Question 57 addresses door hardware specifications by directing all exterior doors to receive push-button combination locks and all new interior doors to receive standard latch and lock hardware, with reference to sheet D-11 for visual specifications; the document notes the absence of specifications for a new entry door at building 2150 and references section 081113 Hollow Metal Doors and Frames for that specification; and it specifies that house 7001 requires two 50-gallon, 240V water heaters for replacement. The document includes attached images showing the basis-of-design locks referenced in the responses. This Q&A was posted as part of amendment 0003 on March 23, 2026, and must be considered by quoters submitting responses by the extended deadline of March 26, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. CST.

1. The response to question 31 from the Q&A directs the contractor to provide and install a 32”x80” hollow core wood door. The door specifications are for solid core wood doors. Please advise. Install a 32”x80” hollow core wood door
1) In response to answer 57 from the Q&A, specification 087100 doesn’t indicate which hardware group goes to which door. This section does include push-button combination locks, stand-alone proximity card readers, electromagnetic locks, electronic strikes with reference to optional bid items, high security lock cylinders, template-produced hinges for hinges installed on hollow-metal doors and hollow-metal frames, hinges with nonremovable pins etc. Please indicate which doors receive which hardware groups so the contractor may put together a hardware schedule. See sheet D-11. As called out, all exterior doors shall receive a push button combination lock, the basis of design is pictured below . All new interior doors shall receive standard latch and lock equal to the one pictured below.
2. There isn’t a specification for the new entry door at building 2150. Please advise. See attachment for spec: 081113 Hollow Metal Doors and Frames
3. On house 7001 it looks like the plumber needs to replace 2 water heaters, but what size are they? 50 gallon, 240V image1.png image2.png
