About this file

This document is a Group Policy Amendment No. 1 to a disability and life insurance group policy issued to the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners in Florida. The amendment, effective January 1, 2022, modifies the terms of long-term and short-term disability insurance and term life insurance coverage provided by Standard Insurance Company. The amendment specifically revises the Deductible Income section of the policy to clarify that sick pay, annual or personal leave pay, severance pay, and other salary continuation benefits paid by the employer are now included as deductible income, with the exception of vacation pay and donated amounts.

This amendment represents a modification to the existing insurance policy framework governing disability and life insurance benefits for Palm Beach County employees. The revision to the deductible income definition impacts how benefit calculations are determined under the policy by expanding the categories of employer-paid compensation that offset insurance benefits. No pricing adjustments, renewal terms, or additional contractual modifications are specified in this amendment document.
