About this file
This is an Insurance Requirements attachment for a Beverage and Snack Vending Services contract opportunity issued by the District Board of Trustees of Valencia College, Florida. The attachment establishes mandatory insurance coverage requirements that the selected contractor must obtain and maintain throughout the term of the agreement. The contractor must secure General Liability insurance of not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence, Workers' Compensation insurance in accordance with Florida statutory requirements, Employers Liability insurance of not less than $1,000,000, and Professional Liability insurance of not less than $2,000,000. Proof of insurance at these required levels must be submitted with the solicitation response, and a current Certificate of Insurance must be provided at the time of award and prior to agreement execution.
The contractor is required to designate the Valencia College District Board of Trustees and Valencia Foundation as additional insureds on all applicable policies and must notify the Office of Contracts and Records at ljohnston@valenciacollege.edu prior to finalizing the agreement and immediately upon any changes to coverage, with a maximum notification period of three business days. All insurance policies, except Workers' Compensation, must be issued by companies authorized by the Florida Department of Insurance, with Workers' Compensation policies potentially issued by group self-insurers authorized under Florida Statute 440.57. The College must be exempt from liability for any policy deductibles, which remain the sole responsibility of the contractor. The College reserves the right to increase insurance limits or types of coverage based on recommendations from its Risk Management Office and retains sole discretion in determining policy acceptability. Insurance policies must include a 30-day notice requirement prior to any material alteration, cancellation, expiration, or non-renewal becoming effective.
