About this file

This document is an Employee Separation Checklist for a federal contract. It outlines the procedures for handling the separation of an employee from a contractor organization, depending on whether the separation is friendly or unfriendly.

For a friendly separation, the checklist includes steps such as removing network and system access privileges, collecting authentication tokens, retrieving identification badges and keys, briefing the employee on continuing confidentiality responsibilities, and notifying relevant parties. For an unfriendly separation, the steps are more immediate, such as disabling system access quickly, restricting the employee's access and function, and escorting the individual off the premises if there is a potential for retaliation.

The checklist also requires the contractor to review the employee's duties and responsibilities, assess the level of risk to the government, and notify the Project Officer in writing upon completion of the separation process.
