About this file

This is a Conservation and Resource Protection Grant Program project summary sheet involving the Incline Village General Improvement District (IVGID) and the state of Nevada. IVGID seeks funding to acquire approximately five acres of private land from the Incline Lake Corporation located on Mt Rose Highway in Washoe County. The project involves purchasing the property for future development of recreational amenities including a trailhead, parking lot, all-season trails, informational kiosks, a day lodge with visitor services and restrooms, and cross-country ski and snow play facilities. The project was completed or last updated on June 28, 2006, with an anticipated property sale closing in November 2006. The acquisition is contingent upon the successful acquisition of adjacent Incline Lake properties by the US Forest Service through the Southern Nevada Public Lands Management Act process.

The grant amount requested is $772,500.00 against a total project cost of $1,030,000.00. Matching funds are proposed from the Arthur B. Schultz Foundation, Residential Construction Tax, Recreation Fund, and the Incline Village General Improvement District itself. The project is categorized as an Urban Parks and Greenbelts initiative. Dan St. John serves as the applicant and authorized representative for IVGID. The grant award amount was listed as to be determined at the time of this document.
