About this file

This document is an Infection Control Risk Assessment for a construction project at a Department of Veterans Affairs facility in Hines, Illinois. The project involves renovations to portions of the first and second floors for new EHRM Training and Administrative space under solicitation number 36C77622B0050. The assessment classifies the construction activities into different risk groups based on dust levels and scope of work, and outlines infection control actions required of contractors based on the determined project class. Class I projects require basic precautions while Class IV projects, involving major demolition and construction, mandate the most stringent controls such as negative pressure barriers, HEPA vacuuming of personnel, and multiple terminal cleanings. Signatures from the contractor, project planner, supervisor, and infection control team are needed approving the assessment before commencing any renovation work.
