The Bend Seed Extractory (BSE) is part of the National Nursery system and serves the reforestation, restoration, and genetic conservation seed needs of the

Forest Service, BLM, and other agencies and partners. The extractory processes and stores seed for restoration projects across the country.

This project addresses outstanding electrical and site issues at three buildings central to the extractory’s operations – the seed freezer, seed extractory build-ing, and packing shed. Both the seed freezer and seed extractory buildings have outdated halon fire suppression systems and electrical control panels that are out of compliance and pose a safety hazard to employees. The packing shed and seed extractory building restroom facilities also have drainage issues due to set-tling of the existing septic system.

The intent of this project is as follows:

SUMMARY 011000 - Page 2 of 3
