About this file

This document is a Government's Minimum Specifications for a federal contract opportunity issued by NUWCDIVNPT (Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport) seeking a deep ocean, rechargeable Li Ion Battery with associated services. The contract requires one Li Ion battery with specific technical requirements: 45Vdc voltage, 22 kWh capacity, 6,000m depth rating, and an operating temperature range of -5°C to 35°C. The battery must be US Navy Li Ion certified after delivery and will operate in a marine environment. Additionally, the contract includes a recharging system compatible with 60 Hz, single-phase 115 Vac or three-phase 450 Vac Delta configured power for use on an ocean-going research vessel.

The contract is structured with multiple Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs): CLIN 0001 covers certification services, CLIN 0002 covers the Li Ion battery, CLIN 0003 covers the recharging system, and optional CLINs 0004 and 0005 provide services and materials for potential battery modifications to meet US Navy certification. The contractor must submit all required information to support certification, which the government estimates may take 90 days or longer. The contractor will also need to provide a quote for any required modifications, with a breakdown of labor and material costs, which the government may use to exercise the optional CLINs.
