Attachment (9) 23 June 2023
Attachment (9): Facility Requirements For
KC-130J
Integrated Maintenance Plan (IMP) Planned Maintenance Interval (PMI)
Hangar reference:
General hangar requirements are found in DCMA 8210.1C Change 1 (or latest revision) Aircraft facilities (all buildings, structures, etc.) shall meet at least the minimum requirements of NAS 3306, Facility Requirements for Aircraft Operations. When unable to meet the specific facility requirements of NAS 3306, contractors may seek relief through the appropriate Waiver Authority for this Instruction per DCMA 8210.1C Change 1 (or latest revision) per paragraphs 6.15.1, 6.16.1, and 6.18.2.
FLCY, FRCWP, DCMA, and USMC retain the right to require the USMC C-130 maintenance area be compartmentalized. Compartmentalization for maintenance of the USMC C-130 is preferred. If a USMC C-130 is placed in a hangar with other aircraft, all DCMA/FRCWP/USG safety and security requirements must extend to aircraft co-located (if in same hangar open space; e.g., same fire suppression, same AFF/ARFF, same security would apply to co-located aircraft).
Maintenance Area
The KC-130J maintenance area shall provide adequate square footage to perform quality maintenance safely. Maintenance area requirements around the aircraft shall comply with safety requirements for fuel free, and fuel/defuel as applicable in the maintenance cycle.
Fall Protection
Fall protection is required to work on the KC-130J. Fall protection shall be compliant with USG Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental (OSHE) standards. Equivalent host nation standards may be used upon approval of DCMA Contract Safety.
Electrical
Shall comply with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 409. Equivalent host nation standards may be used upon approval of DCMA Contract Safety.
Paint Hangar
Shall comply with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 409. Equivalent host nation standards may be used upon approval of DCMA Contract Safety. Shall be the appropriate size for KC-130J.
Overhead Hoist/Crane
Shall be capable of removing and installing heavy aircraft components, e.g., C-130 Vertical Tail.
Shall comply with USG OSHE standards. Equivalent host nation standards may be used upon approval of DCMA Contract Safety.
