About this file

This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for an electrical outlet installation project at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina. The project requires the contractor to install four 120V outlets in Distribution Room FMGRSR02, with circuits run from a panel in Electrical Room E101. Specific technical requirements include adding four 20A bolt-on breakers to a GE A-Series II Panelboard, installing single-phase flush-mounted circuits using 8 AWG wires and ground wires, and running 1" conduit with specific routing and mounting instructions.

The project is time-sensitive and has several key specifications: work must be performed during normal hours (0700-1700), requires an escort for site access, and needs completion as soon as possible. The contractor must follow various electrical codes and standards, including IBC, NEC, NESC, and NFPA. Material requirements specify using commercial off-the-shelf items, with no expected long lead times. The project will be funded by ARCENT, and the contractor must provide a construction schedule within 30 days of the Notice to Proceed (NTP). Attachments include conduit fill and wire size calculations to support the technical specifications.

PROJECT: ARCENT Outlet Install LOCATION: B1947

DATE: 21 Feb 2025

Scope of Work:

ARCENT would like the addition of four 120 V outlets in Distribution Room FMGRSR02. The circuits for each outlet will be ran from a panel in Electrical Room E101. Each circuit shall have a dedicated circuit breaker and passed through EMT conduit.

Description of Services:

The Contractor shall provide all management, transportation, tools, supplies, equipment, labor, and applicable licenses and permits necessary to ensure the work contained within this SOW to be completed in B1947 at Shaw AFB, South Carolina. Upon notification of a Notice to Proceed (NTP) the Contractor shall perform the services outlined in the contract provided. All work shall be done in accordance with the latest versions of the following: the International Building Code (IBC), National Electric Code (NEC), National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), Shaw Design Change 2, 21 Aug. 2018, and Construction Standards.

Statement of Work:

Install

• Panel o Additions shall be made to the panel labeled: GE A-Series II Panelboard (RINW4, 208Y/120V, 3 PH/4W, 100 A) o The contractor shall add four 20 A bolt-on breakers to locations 37-40.

o The contractor shall utilize A-B phasing.

o The contractor shall use the existing punchout in the top of the panel to start the conduit/circuit run.

• Electrical Runs for Outlets o The contractor shall install 4 new single-phase flush-mounted circuits, using eight 8 AWG wires and four ground wires, and 1” conduit.

o Per the NEC the conduit shall have supports every 10 feet of continuous run.

o The contractor shall start the circuit and conduit run at the panel straight up approximately 5 feet into an LB bracket directed to the left.

o The contractor shall then run it 5 feet to the left towards the wall.

o The contractor shall penetrate the wall to allow a pass through for the circuit run.

o The contractor shall bracket off the run to the left, as you exit E101.

o The contractor shall then run the conduit through the ceiling (approx. 10’ high) straight towards the double doors, approximately 54’.

o The contractor shall penetrate the wall to allow the run to pass through.

o The contractor shall use an LB bracket to direct the run to the right.

Requirements ARCENT Outlet Install SOW o The contractor then shall run the circuit approximately 10 feet down into a 6x6x4 Junction box.

o The contractor shall split the circuits, 2 to the left and 2 to the right into ¾” conduit, using a reducing coupling.

o The contractor shall make the run 5 feet over and 7 feet down into the outlet.

o The circuit shall land in two outlets on either side in a grounded double gang box.

o The contractor shall ensure functionality of outlets after install.

Patching

• After install is complete and the outlets and circuit is run, the contractor shall putty/seal and patch the penetrations created at both pass-through locations per Shaw’s requirements for secure buildings.

Assumptions:

• There will be no asbestos or hazardous materials handling or removal shall be included in any phase of the project.

• All work shall be performed during normal working hours from 0700 to 1700.

• No repair, removal or relocation of hidden utility lines shall be accomplished.

• Escorts shall be required.

• No design is required.

• Outages/permits are not required. Isolation valves for the work area shall be used, if none are available an outage request is required.

• Training will not be required.

Methodology/Process:

• Project will be funded by ARCENT.

Calculations:

• See attachments: 02 and 03 for conduit fill and wire size calculations.

• A rough estimate was used to determine the panel would not be overloaded with the additions.

Scheduling:

• Site access is at a secure building. The contractor will be required to have an escort.

• This requirement is time sensitive and needs to be completed as soon as possible.

• Provide a construction schedule a maximum of 30 days after the NTP.

• There will be no long lead times, all materials are commercial off the shelf items.
