About this file
This document is a Solicitation Questions and Answers memorandum from the 20th Contracting Squadron at Shaw Air Force Base for Solicitation FA480325R0014. The document provides clarification on two specific questions related to an electrical installation project. First, contractors were informed that ladders will be sufficient for work, as the electrical runs will be through a 10-foot high ceiling. Second, regarding wire specifications, the response indicates an 8AWG wire size with ampacity adjusted according to the National Electrical Code (NEC) for the number of conductors running through the conduit.
The memorandum includes critical instructions for vendors, specifically noting that all amendments must be acknowledged in the proposal, with failure to do so potentially resulting in the proposal being found nonresponsive. Vendors are directed to contact the Contracting Specialist, SrA Tariq Ellis, and the Contracting Officer, SSgt Christon Reed, for any concerns. The document is dated 27 March 2025 and is associated with the Department of the Air Force's 20th Fighter Wing at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina.

SUBJECT: Solicitation Questions and Answers
1. Can all work be done off of ladders? Or will a lift be required?

a. As far as the wire size, it should be 8AWG, the ampacity was adjusted for the number of conductors running through the conduit, according to the
NEC.
3. All other information as stated in the Solicitation remains unchanged.
4. Note: Please ensure you include acknowledgement of this and all amendments in your proposal. Failure to do so may result in your proposal being found nonresponsive.
