About this file
This document is a Solicitation Questions and Answers memorandum for Air Force contract FA480325R0014 issued by the 20th Contracting Squadron at Shaw Air Force Base. The document addresses two specific technical questions from potential contractors: 1) whether ladder or lift equipment will be needed for electrical work (ladders are deemed sufficient for the 10' ceiling height), and 2) wire size specifications (8AWG wire confirmed, with ampacity adjusted per National Electrical Code requirements). The memorandum instructs contractors to acknowledge all amendments in their proposal and provides contact information for the Contracting Specialist SrA Tariq Ellis and Contracting Officer SSgt Christon Reed, with a warning that failure to acknowledge amendments may result in a non-responsive proposal.

DEPARTMENT OF THE AIR FORCE
20TH FIGHTER WING (ACC)
SHAW AIR FORCE BASE SOUTH CAROLINA
VICTORY BY VALOR
27 March 2025
MEMORANDUM FOR SOLICITATION FA480325R0014
FROM: 20th Contracting Squadron/PKB 321 Cullen Street, Building 216 Shaw Air Force Base, SC 29150
SUBJECT: Solicitation Questions and Answers
1. Can all work be done off of ladders? Or will a lift be required?
a. The plan is to have the electrical run through the ceiling, which is approximately 10’ high, so ladders should be sufficient for the scope of work.
2. The SOW says #8 wire, but we also see #10 wire. What size wire does the facility want for this?
a. As far as the wire size, it should be 8AWG, the ampacity was adjusted for the number of conductors running through the conduit, according to the
NEC.
3. All other information as stated in the Solicitation remains unchanged.
4. Note: Please ensure you include acknowledgement of this and all amendments in your proposal. Failure to do so may result in your proposal being found nonresponsive.
5. Please direct all concerns to the Contracting Specialist, SrA Tariq Ellis at tariq.ellis@us.af.mil and the Contracting Officer, SSgt Christon Reed at christon.reed@us.af.mil
