About this file
This document is a Salient Characteristics attachment to Request for Quote (RFQ) FA462026QA234 for Combat Mission Folder (CMF) cases required by Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington.
The government seeks to procure 35 metal CMF cases used for aircraft configurations to transport and provide lockable storage for secret documents. The objective is to increase mission readiness by expanding the current inventory. Cases must be constructed from 1/16" and 3/16" steel sheets with riveted or welded seams, internal hinges, and lock hasps. Dimensions are specified as 25½" length by 14" width by 17¼" height. Each case requires two 5" x 5" x 3/16" steel plates welded to the bottom with cutouts featuring two countersunk holes (90 degrees, 1/8" depth). Additional specifications include a top opening with an inward-bent lip (½" high and 7/8" wide), a hinged lid centered on the box, centered handles on front and back positioned 3¾" from the bottom, and a latch welded and centered on the lid edge. Cases must be tamper resistant to show evidence of unauthorized removal attempts, uniform across the fleet for weight and balance compliance, installable via Dash 21 floor plates, lockable, and painted. Reference photographs of the CMF case are included showing exterior and interior views with mounting plate locations.
