About this file

This document is a set of COVID-19 guidelines for the Hines hospital campus and Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). The guidelines outline strict protocols for controlling coronavirus spread, including mandatory mask wearing, PIV card requirements, and controlled facility access.

The document specifies four main COVID-19 screening entry points: the main lobby of Building 200, the Atrium near Building 45, the C-Section east entrance to Building 1, and the main lobby of Building 217. All individuals entering must have their temperature checked and symptoms queried daily, receiving a sticker on their PIV card to confirm screening. After 4:30 PM, campus door access is limited to the Emergency Department and Building 200's main lobby, with VA Police enforcing unauthorized entry restrictions. The guidelines also detail exit and re-entry procedures, emphasizing that propping open doors or allowing unscreened individuals to enter will result in immediate removal and potential penalties.

C) All the doors on Hines campus close at 4:30 PM except the Emergency Department and the main lobby of Building 200. Once the doors on campus are secured at 4:30 PM, the only entrances to enter the facility are the Emergency Department and the main lobby of Building 200. Unauthorized entry to any other doors that have been secured will be enforced by the VA Police.

Upon Arrival at the Station

A) The station has four main entry points for COVID screening.

1. The main lobby of Building 200

2. The Atrium just north of Building 45

3. C-Section east entrance to Building 1

4. The main lobby of Building 217

B) Everyone entering the screening points will have their temperature checked and symptoms queried daily.

C) You will be given a sticker to place on you PIV card showing you have been screened for the day.

Exiting and Re-entry

A) You may exit any building from any normal door leading to the exterior. Please be sure the door is fully closed behind you after exiting.

B) If you need to re-enter the facility, you will need to go to one of the screening points. If you have already been screened you need only show the dated sticker showing you were screened earlier in the day.

C) After 4:30 PM, only the main lobby in Building 200 and the Emergency Department may be used for re-entry.

D) Propping open doors and allowing unscreened individuals to enter will result in immediate removal from the station and other penalties.
