About this file
This document is an Addendum No. 1 for a Request for Quotation (ARFQ 0608 DCR2600000017) for a Concrete Pads Project at the Anthony Correctional Center and Jail. The addendum provides clarifications and answers to questions from potential bidders regarding project specifications. Key details include requirements to remove existing #57 gravel and replace it with new crush and run gravel, with the existing gravel to be relocated outside the perimeter security fence. The wire mesh specification calls for six (6) gauge wire mesh with six (6") inch by six (6") inch square spaces.
The addendum includes specific instructions for two extended day room areas behind female housing dorms, detailing excavation requirements, ground compaction, and concrete pad slope specifications. The concrete pads must slope one-quarter (1/4") inch per one (1') foot away from the building, with no standing water allowed on the surface. The final concrete pad elevation cannot be higher than the existing building floor elevation. The pre-bid meeting sign-in sheets are attached, indicating multiple potential vendors attended the mandatory pre-bid meeting. The bid time and date remain unchanged at 10:30 AM E.S.T. on September 25, maintaining the original procurement timeline.

REQUEST FOR QUOTATION
CONCRETE PADS PROJECT
ANTHONY CORRECTIONAL CENTER AND JAIL
CONCRETE PADS 1 ADDENDUM
ADDENDUM NO. 1
Questions:
Q1: It says in the bid packet that we can use the crush and run that is on site for under the slabs. They have #57’s on site, not crush and run, which really cannot be compacted the way it needs to be compacted for the concrete slabs. Are you wanting us to still use the #57’s that are there, or are we to bring in all new crush and run for the project? This will make a bid difference in how each company will have to price this work.
A1: The contractor must remove the existing #57 gravel and provide new crush and run gravel. The contractor must relocate the #57 gravel outside the perimeter security fence behind the new Vocational Education building.
Q2: Do you have any specific specs as in size and gauge of the wire you want installed in the slabs?
A2: The contractor must provide six (6) gauge wire mesh with six (6”) inch by six (6”) inch squares spaces.
Clarifications:
C1: Please see the attached mandatory pre-bid sign-in sheet.
C2: For the two (2) extended day room areas behind female housing dorms concrete pads:
C2a) Replace specifications section 1.01(A), subsection 3(c) with the following: It is anticipated that the existing grade level of the ground is eight 8”) inches below the final grade level. Against the building, the contractor must excavate four (4") inches below the existing ground level. The contractor must slope the excavation one quarter (1/4”) inch per one (1’) foot in addition for the slope away from the building. After the excavation is completed, the contractor must compact the ground. After the ground has been compacted, the contractor must install the concrete forms.
C2b) Replace specifications section 1.01(A), subsection 3(h) with the following: The new concrete pads must be slopped one quarter (1/4”) inch per one (1’) foot away from the building and no standing water shall puddle on top of the new concrete pads.
C2c) The final concrete pad against the building cannot be higher than the existing building floor elevation.
