About this file

This is Addendum No. 1 to a Request for Quotation (RFQ) issued by the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (DCR) for HVAC equipment replacement at the Mount Olive Correctional Complex and Jail. The project involves the replacement of HVAC rooftop units across six buildings within the facility. All work must be completed within 365 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. A mandatory pre-bid sign-in sheet is required for participation. The bid submission deadline is 10:30 AM Eastern Standard Time on August 20, 2025.

The addendum provides critical electrical and operational clarifications for contractors. Contractors must utilize existing 200-ampere fused disconnect switches and 3/0 wire installations in electrical rooms, replacing existing 200-ampere NEMA 3R non-fused disconnect switches with new units of the same specification and sizing new electrical wires according to the new HVAC equipment requirements. Due to 24/7 facility occupancy across all six buildings, contractors may remove and replace only the quantity of rooftop units that can be installed and brought online on the same day, with an allowance of up to two days to complete installation and connections. Additionally, contractors must extend existing ductwork adjacent to the rooftop units to exceed the height of new units while meeting current code requirements.

HVAC EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT PROJECT

MOUNT OLIVE CORRECTIONAL COMPLEX AND JAIL

HVAC EQUIPMENT 1 ADDENDUM NO. 1

REPLACEMENT PROJECT

ADDENDUM NO. 1

Clarifications:

C1: Attached is the mandatory pre-bid sign-in sheet.

C2: All work must be completed within three hundred sixty-five (365) calendar days upon receipt of Notice to Proceed.

C3: Electrical clarification: Each of the existing HVAC rooftop units are fed electric from the existing fused disconnect switch in the electrical room per building that it is located on.

There are three (3) existing, two hundred (200 A) amp fusses in each disconnect switch.

The contractor must use the existing fuses. From each fused disconnect switch inside each electrical room, there is existing 3/0 wire installed to the non-fused disconnect switch. The contractor must use the previously stated 3/0 wires.

C4: Electrical clarification: The existing two hundred (200 A) amp NEMA 3R disconnect switches that are connected to each HVAC rooftop unit are non-fused. The contractor must replace the existing two hundred (200 A) amp NEMA 3R disconnect switches with new two hundred (200 A) amp NEMA 3R non-fused disconnect switches.

C5: Electrical clarification: The contractor must replace the existing electrical wires that are installed between the two hundred (200 A) amp NEMA 3R non-fused disconnect switch to the new HVAC rooftop units with new. The contractor must size the new electrical wires with the requirements of the new HVAC rooftop units.

C6: Because each of the six (6) buildings are occupied twenty (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week, the contractor must only remove the amount of existing HVAC rooftop units as the new HVAC rooftop units can be installed and brough back online on the same day. With the concerns stated at the mandatory pre-bid meeting about the previously stated in the specifications with removing the existing HVAC rooftop unit, setting the new HVAC rooftop unit, and doing all the connections, the DCR will allow the contractor for up to two (2) days to get the new HVAC rooftop unit in operation.

C7: The contractor must extend the existing ductwork that is located beside each of the existing rooftop units above the height of the new HVAC rooftop units and must meet the current code requirements.

C8: The bid time and date remain the same: 10:30 AM E.S.T. August 20, 2025
