About this file
This is an Addendum No. 1 to a Request for Quotation (RFQ) issued by a state or local government entity for a chiller replacement project at Mount Olive Correctional Complex and Jail. The project involves the replacement of two chillers and associated equipment including four pumps, a water softener, filter feeder, chemical pot feeder, expansion tank, control valves, motor starters, speed drives, suction diffusers, pressure gauges, thermostats, flex connectors, and piping insulation. The work scope includes replacing existing components with new equipment that must integrate with the facility's existing Metasys building automation system by Johnson Controls, Inc. The bid submission deadline has been extended one week and is now scheduled for 10:30 AM Eastern Standard Time on April 11, 2025. A mandatory pre-bid meeting was held on March 21, 2025, with attendees required to sign in.
The addendum clarifies critical technical specifications for the project, including that the new chillers must be specified with R-513A refrigerant and that all pumps must meet specific flow and head requirements (20 HP pumps at 480 GPM and 100 feet total head; 5 HP pumps at 480 GPM and 25 feet total head). The new piping system will utilize grooved pipe and fittings, and all new insulation must match existing insulation specifications with metal lagging for outdoor piping. The contractor must reconnect the entire system to the existing Metasys BAS, replace the heat trace system (as no glycol is present in the current system), and include all controls, valves, and interconnecting materials in the bid. The electrical disconnect from the existing chiller system may be reused, and the VFD fuse panel will also be retained.
