About this file

This file is a technical specification document for the MSU Denver CAVEA Lighting Upgrades Project prepared by The RMH Group, Inc. for Metropolitan State University of Denver located in Denver, Colorado. The project encompasses lighting replacement and upgrades within the CAVEA Theater in Building B, covering approximately 1,330 square feet of International Building Code (IBC) Type II_A construction. All work will be executed under a single prime construction contract, with the contractor responsible for connecting new lighting to the existing lighting control system and ensuring full operational functionality. Work must be conducted during normal business hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, unless otherwise approved by the Owner. The project manager is Shara Johnson (Electrical Engineer) at (303) 239-2727, and the Owner's representative is Danielle Pruette at (303) 518-8181. A pre-construction meeting must be scheduled within 14 days of the Notice to Proceed, and construction progress meetings are to be held weekly. The contractor must maintain a daily log documenting weather conditions, personnel, visitors, changes to work, and inspection results, with weekly submissions to the Owner's Representative and Engineer.

The specifications require compliance with the 2024 International Building Code, 2024 International Energy Conservation Code, 2023 National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), and all applicable Colorado State Buildings Program standards. All contractors must obtain a Hot Work Permit three working days in advance for any welding, grinding, or similar activities, with non-compliance subject to fines ranging from $400 to $1,000 per occurrence. The Auraria Campus is designated as a tobacco-free campus, and controlled substance use is prohibited. The contractor must provide environmental protection procedures including dust control, noise mitigation, proper waste disposal, and recycling of removed copper and aluminum wiring. Eight days' advance written notice is required for activities that severely impact occupancy or require utility interruptions, and coordination is mandatory with Campus Projects and Events. No specific pricing terms, funding sources, set-asides, or award dates are indicated in this technical specification document.
