About this file

This is a Professional Learning Fact Sheet appendix for the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) High Quality Curricula and Professional Learning in Social Studies solicitation (MPA 636). The document serves as a template and submission requirement for vendors offering K-12 social studies professional learning services to complete and submit as part of their proposal response. Vendors must provide comprehensive information across multiple categories including the title and grade span of the professional learning offering, an overview description of available professional learning options with objectives and expected outcomes, and specification of professional learning structures employed within their overall framework. The solicitation seeks proposals from vendors offering core curriculum materials, supplemental curriculum materials, and/or professional learning services in social studies for kindergarten through twelfth grade.

The fact sheet template requires vendors to address fourteen primary content areas: topics and skills covered in professional learning offerings; connections to high-quality curriculum implementation; instructional vision and pedagogical methodology; organizational structure including frequency, maximum participant numbers, and delivery methods; examples of professional learning experiences and materials; collaborative customization approaches; instructional supports for diverse learners including multilingual learners, differently-abled students, and below-grade-level performers; student-centered learning approaches; and feedback methods for data collection and program refinement. Vendors must demonstrate alignment with RIDE's definitions of professional learning structures, high-quality professional learning characteristics outlined in the OET-Agency Solicitation Specifications and High-Quality Professional Learning Guidebook, and the three key competencies related to high-quality core curriculum materials usage in professional learning experiences.
