About this file

This is a Technology Work Scopes specification document for a Michigan school district project involving Wylie Elementary School Additions, a New Fieldhouse, and Dexter High School Additions. The document outlines five distinct bid categories for technology infrastructure and systems: Low Voltage Cabling (8.1), Audio Visual Systems (8.2), Access Controls (8.3), Video Security (8.4), and Theater System & Equipment (8.5). Each bid category specifies applicable specification sections from the project manual, with Low Voltage Cabling encompassing communications room setup, fiber and CAT-6 cabling installation, AV cabling, and comprehensive testing and labeling requirements across all three projects. Audio Visual Systems includes classroom audio, video equipment, flat panel displays, and audio speakers with coordination requirements for mounting and integration. Access Controls covers door-mounted hardware integration and card reader systems, while Video Security addresses camera installation and recording systems. The Theater System & Equipment category focuses exclusively on the Dexter High School Auditorium, requiring a complete audio-visual system installation with just-in-time delivery coordination given ongoing theater use during construction.

Bid Category 8.1 includes two allowances totaling $15,000: $10,000 for miscellaneous conduit installation and $5,000 for unforeseen conditions, both to be used on a time-and-material basis. Bid Category 8.5 for the Theater System includes a $5,000 allowance for unforeseen conditions on a time-and-material basis. All bid categories require extensive coordination with the electrical contractor (26-01), the Construction Manager, and Dexter County Schools regarding conduit routing, mounting heights, device locations, and system integration. Specifications mandate multiple mobilization events as needed, inclusion of all firestopping and joint sealants, comprehensive testing and documentation, training provisions, and warranties per specification sections. Low Voltage Cabling explicitly excludes access control cabling and Dexter High School Theatre cabling (shown on drawings AV0.01-AV6.9), while Audio Visual Systems excludes the same theatre system. Theater System & Equipment is responsible for the complete Dexter High School Auditorium system installation with no exclusions noted.
