About this file

This is Appendix B to a federal contract solicitation for existing equipment removal at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. The appendix establishes minimum performance and installation requirements for removing, disposing of, and modifying existing baggage conveyor system equipment located in Building 3333 (Air Passenger Terminal) operated by the 721st Aerial Port Squadron.

The contractor must remove the complete existing outbound baggage conveyor system including the conveyor itself, motors, operator control panels (Motor Control Panel and Motor Control Center), associated wiring, and check-in counters. The contractor shall remove existing impact protection rails in front of check-in counters and palletize them for reuse by the 721st APS. Three overhead doors that the conveyor passes through must remain in place. All anchor bolts from existing equipment must be removed and ground to floor level, with grout used to fill holes and level the surrounding area. The contractor is responsible for repairing any damage to drywall, concrete, or other building finishings sustained during removal. All removed materials except the impact protection rails must be hauled away off base and disposed of in accordance with applicable Federal, Air Force, Air Base, country/state, local, and municipal laws. The contractor must coordinate with the Base Project Officer before starting removal to minimize operational impact. Quality assurance provisions require inspection to verify that all removal work meets stated requirements, with inspections conducted during system checkout testing and quality conformance testing. The document includes a detailed layout diagram with 16 photographs showing specific equipment locations to be removed.
